 Target Audience

Based upon my audience survey I have decided to do a Horror Thriller. A lot of my responses was based on their likes and dislikes which falls in the psychographic category,, they mainly watch Thriller fro enjoyment. The age rating that I am planning to target is 15 which means that I will be locating my opening sequence within a forest and there will be lots of suspense as that is a key charcactertics within the film genre. My Thriller sequence will be based around the Horror Thriller sub-genre as that is the most popular thriller genre throughout the overall survey results. I have changed from my idea development to do this because the responses from my survey. The Thriller I am planning to do is likely to engage this target audience as they are interest in this genre and feeling of horror.

RESEARCH INTO NARRATIVE

 NARRATIVE  Narrative is the way information is delivered to the audience. The way in which a story is told in both fictional and non-fictional media texts. Traditionally, narrative structures followed a formula which was identified by the theorist Tzvetan Todorov. Todorov studied classic fairy tales and stories. He discovered that narratives moved forward in a chronological order with one action following after another. In other words, they have a clear beginning, middle and end. Todorov also suggested that the characters in the narrative would be changed in some way through the course of the story and that this would be evident by the resolution. Non-linear narratives and circular narratives have a structure that is not so straightforward. A non-linear narrative can move backwards and forwards in time usually using a flashback technique. This is used in the film 500 days (of Summer) which follows a relationship but we see flashforwards and flashbacks as the story progresses....
